Tires for Electric Scooters with 8.5″ Wheels

Choosing a high-quality, suitable tire is crucial for a safe ride and optimal scooter performance.

Choose the Right Tire Type

Standard

The standard tire offers excellent performance on asphalt roads, city streets, and other hard surfaces. It is ideal for daily commuting. Models such as ECO Speed 9, ECO Speed 8 (front 2021), and Vsett 8 (front) are equipped with this tire.

Road

The road tire has a flatter and wider profile than the standard version, which provides a different feel while riding. It performs excellently on paved surfaces and works better on hard-packed gravel paths. It is ideal for daily commuting. Models such as Vsett 9 and Vsett 9+ are equipped with this tire.

Preventing Flat Tires

The most common cause of flat tires is riding with incorrect pressure in the inner tube. Most electric scooters require at least 3.5 bar, which should be checked regularly with a pressure gauge – ideally once a week.

Riding with improper pressure can cause:

• Damage and punctures to the inner tube
• Tire wear on both the inside and outside
• Poor grip and an increased risk of slipping
• Longer braking distances
• Poor handling

Since the inner tube valves on e-scooters are often hard to reach, we offer a valve extender that makes inflation much easier.

Service Information

Replace the tire as soon as you notice poorer handling, reduced grip, vibrations, or visible wear. With normal use, it is recommended to replace it every 1,000 – 2,000 kilometers.

Visible Signs of Tire Wear

Exterior: A flat profile, burn marks, or holes. Normal riding causes wear; tricks or aggressive braking will accelerate it.

Interior: Detachment of the wire structure, often due to incorrect tire pressure.

Improper installation of the inner tube or tire can cause:

• Damage to the motor cables
• Damage to the motor frame
• Sharp cuts on the rim
• Damage to the tire and the new inner tube

When replacing a flat tire, always inspect both the tire and the inner tube. A damaged tire will shorten the lifespan of any new inner tube.
