Tires for Electric Scooters with 11″ Wheels
Choosing a high-quality, suitable tire is crucial for a safe ride and to get the most out of your electric scooter.
Choose the Right Tire Type
Standard
The standard tire offers reliable performance on asphalt roads, city streets, and other hard surfaces. It is well-suited for everyday riding.
Tubeless
This tire has characteristics similar to the standard version but features a wider profile, which changes the riding feel. A tubeless tire can be mounted on rims designed for tubeless setups or used with inner tubes. It is ideal for road surfaces and daily use.
Enduro
The enduro tire excels on unpaved surfaces such as gravel, dirt, and soil. It is designed for off-road enthusiasts who enjoy forest trails and other established off-road paths.
Preventing Flat Tires
The most common cause of a flat tire is riding with incorrect pressure in the inner tube. Most electric scooters require at least 3.5 bar of pressure, which should be checked regularly with a gauge—ideally once a week.
Riding with the wrong inner tube pressure can lead to:
- Damage and punctures to the inner tube
- Damage and wear to the tire from both inside and outside
- Poor grip and increased risk of slipping
- Longer braking distance
- Poor handling characteristics
Service Information
Replace the tire as soon as you notice poor handling, reduced grip, shaking, or visible signs of wear. With normal use, replacement is recommended every 1 000–2 000 kilometers.
Visible Signs of Tire Wear Requiring Replacement
Outer side: Flat tread, burn marks, or holes. Regular riding causes wear; stunts or aggressive braking will wear tires much faster.
Inner side: Wire structure detachment, often caused by riding with improper tire pressure.
Improper inner tube or tire replacements can cause issues such as:
- Damage to the motor cable
- Damage to the motor frame
- Sharp cuts in the rim
- Damage to the tire and damage to the new inner tube
When replacing both the tire and inner tube, always check the condition of both components. Incorrect pressure often damages both, and installing a new inner tube in a damaged tire greatly reduces its lifespan.
