Tires for Electric Scooters with 10″ Wheels
Choosing a high-quality and suitable tire is crucial for a safe ride and for getting the most out of your e-scooter.
Choose the Right Tire Type

Standard

The standard tire offers reliable performance on asphalt, city roads, and other hard surfaces. It is ideal for daily commuting and comes factory-installed on many popular scooters.
Road

The road tire has a flatter and wider profile than the standard version, which improves grip on paved surfaces and hard-packed gravel paths. It ensures a smooth ride for daily commuters and those who spend most of their time on asphalt.
Enduro

The enduro tire is designed for unpaved terrain, providing excellent grip on gravel, dirt, and mud. Its rugged tread makes it the first choice for riders who enjoy forest trails and off-road adventures.
Hybrid

The hybrid tire bridges the gap between road and enduro designs. It performs well on paved roads while also handling harder gravel and light off-road trails. Note that it will wear out faster on smooth asphalt than a dedicated road tire, but it lasts longer than a pure enduro model.
Preventing Tire Punctures
The most common cause of tire punctures is improper inner tube pressure. Most electric scooters require at least 3.5 bar, which should be checked regularly with a pressure gauge—ideally once a week.
Riding with incorrect pressure can cause:
- Damage and puncture of the inner tube
- Tire wear on the inside and outside
- Poor grip and an increased risk of slipping
- Longer braking distance
- Poor handling characteristics
Since the inner tube valves on e-scooters are often hard to reach, a valve extender makes inflation much easier.
Service Information
Replace the tire as soon as you notice poor handling, reduced grip, vibrations, or visible wear. Under normal use, tires should be replaced every 1,000–2,000 km.
Visible Signs of Tire Wear Requiring Replacement
Outside: Flattened tread, burn marks, or holes. Regular riding causes wear; stunts or aggressive braking accelerate it.
Inside: Separation of the wire structure, often a result of riding with incorrect pressure.
Improper installation of the inner tube or tire can cause:
- Damage to the motor cable
- Damage to the motor housing
- Sharp cuts on the rim
- Damage to both the tire and the new inner tube
When changing a flat tire, always inspect both the inner tube and the outer tire. A damaged tire will quickly ruin a new inner tube.
